Covers the skills and knowledge specific to acting as skipper and/or crew aboard a 30 to 50 foot cruising catamaran. This course is

the Intermediate Coastal Cruising standard.
Advanced Cruising Catamaran (non-ASA). Wanna’ make that tamed cat dance? A
Nautical Ventures exclusive. In this hands-on class we cover advanced material supplemental to the ASA Cruising Catamaran
course. Topics include catamaran specific sail trim techniques (traveler use, barberhauler, spinnaker handling), heavy weather sailing,
additional anchoring/mooring techniques, single engine boat handling. The emphasis in this course is hands-on skills – we don’t just
talk about this stuff -- we get out on the water and do it! Can be added to ASA Cruising Catamaran or delivered stand-alone.

into practice during the day and at night! The successful student has served as skipper and crew aboard a sailing vessel, 30 to 50
feet in length, underway for at least 32 hours continuously in coastal waters.
ASA Challenge. "Feeling lucky punk?" Experienced
and qualified sailors may challenge any of the ASA standards. To successfully complete a Challenge the student must demonstrate the
appropriate skills and pass the corresponding written exam. No instruction is provided as part of a Challenge – the student must already
posses the necessary skills and knowledge. Additional boat fees may be included if applicable. Nautical Ventures only offers the ASA
Challenge in combination with other instruction.
Customized instruction is not limited to the ASA curriculum and may focus on any subject
areas the student specifies. Customized instruction may or may not include ASA certification depending upon the curriculum selected.
